Jessica · 10/29/04 09:19AMIt's purely in the pursuit of truth that Page Six insinuates that Presidential candidate John Kerry is connected to Lee Harvey Oswald. Hey, why don't you just say that Kerry straight-up killed JFK? That might move a few more copies of today's issue.

Van Der Meer Denies Lewinsky On So Many Levels
Jessica · 10/29/04 09:15AM
Does Monica Lewinsky have, like, the plague or something? We're just wondering, since another man has come forward to claim he wouldn't touch Monica with a ten-foot pole. Perry van der Meer, managing editor of Tracks magazine (a publication which, we might add, disappointingly has nothing to do with heroin), has publicly announced that he is NOT—we repeat, NOT—in a relationship with Lewinsky, even though a couple of gossip items suggested otherwise. Poor Monica; who knew getting fucked with a cigar by the President would make you so untouchable? Back to making purses, spinster!

O'Reilly And Mackris Loofah And Make Up
Jessica · 10/29/04 08:56AM
Finally, it all comes out in the wash: the Bill O'Reilly sexual harassment suit has come to an early end, as O'Reilly has settled with plaintiff Andrea Mackris for an undisclosed sum somewhere between $2 and $10 million. That's a big window, but, at any rate, it should cover Mackris' $99k Mastercard debt. And if he hadn't used Mackris for phone sex, he probably would have racked up similar charges with a 1-900 service.

Jessica · 10/28/04 10:06AM
More on the effect of these red-hot blog things: it seems that mainstream journalists actually feel "bullied" by web writers. Really? How sad. Then again, we're not sure you're really qualified to be a member of the fearless press if you're threatened by a pajama-clad army of recluses who eat peanut butter straight from the jar and post cat photos on Fridays.

MTA Scientology Poster
Jessica · 10/28/04 09:38AM
Here it is, in all its disturbing glory: the MTA Centennial poster that has raised concerns over a secret pro-Scientology plot. The poster's artist, Kathy Jakobsen, even has her own Scientology page. And, in case you can't quite see the details of the poster, those itty-bitty people are all slowly handing over money to John Travolta.

Joel Stein Hustles His Goodies To LAT

Has the LAT suddenly started caring about Hollywood? They've signed up Time (and, for like, fifteen seconds, Entertainment Weekly) columnist/VH1 talking head Joel Stein to write about this thing called "the entertainment industry" that infests much of the paper's subscriber area. Editorial editor Michael Kinsley explains his interest in owning The Business like a Sony exec's indentured servant:

Jessica · 10/27/04 02:55PMBreaking: Writers Not Always Attractive
Jessica · 10/27/04 11:48AMThe "blogosphere" just keeps sprouting the craziest little things. And these "bloggers" everyone keeps talking about have the most remarkable insight. Take, for instance, the notion that magazine writers have "a face for magazine writing." Is that better or worse than a face made for radio? We're trying to keep track of our ugly people.
