Hardened criminal Lindsay Lohan sent her lawyer to ask the judge in her grand theft case "how much time she'll get if she agrees to a guilty or no contest" plea, according to Radar. At what point does a repeat criminal offender who has not held an honest job in years become a "career criminal"? Her notoriety is all that's propping her up, anyway. [Radar, image via Getty]
Nicolas Cage Arrested for Domestic Abuse
Max Read · 04/16/11 01:35PM
Actor Nicolas Cage was arrested for domestic battery in New Orleans on Friday night—just a month after being escorted out of a restaurant by police. Apparently an intoxicated Cage was arguing loudly with his wife as the couple got in a taxi when the cabbie called police and said he'd seen Cage grab his wife, Alice. Police showed up and told them to "just go home," and then Cage, as is his wont, asked the police "Why don't you just arrest me?" They promptly did. The actor's been released on $11,000 bail after being charged with "domestic abuse and disturbing the peace." His wife isn't pressing charges and says there was no physical contact. Federal investigators are about to start flying planes and helicopters over Long Island's Oak Beach to aid in the search for 24-year-old prostitute Shannan Gilbert, who went missing last May. The search turns more grisly by the day as the remains of victims of a presumed Long Island serial killer are found: A tenth body was discovered this week. Investigators hope high-resolution airborne photography will "help identify skelatal remains that my be out there."

Some former clients have filed a class action lawsuit against JPMorgan saying their bests interests weren't taken into account as the financial world first started to collapse in 2007 and, shockingly, that the bank actually profited $1.9 billion from the demise of London-based investment vehicle Sigma while the clients lost nearly $500 million in assets that JPMorgan didn't pull out. Oh the nerve of these not-as-rich-as-they-used-to-be people!
Bernie Madoff Loves Danielle Steel

Convicted Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff has a lot of time to kill in jail. So what does he do? Well, for one thing, give jailhouse interviews—such as this most recent one to the Financial Times—where he can rail about the banks he believes (more or less accurately, in our estimation) were complicit in his scheme. But also: Keep up with his mail (of which he gets "lots," all from "well-wishers"); work at the prison commissary ("10 a.m. to 7 p.m., four days a week"); and, apparently, work on "ethics courses," for which he's been solicited by "several business schools," including Harvard and Northwestern. Oh, and also, read:
