Arizona's birthers must be so depressed following Gov. Jan Brewer's decision to veto the state's delightful "birther bill," which would have required presidential candidates to present either their long-form birth or penis certificates for inspection. Who knew that Jan Brewer hated fun so much?

Is Louisiana Governor/exorcist Bobby Jindal corrupt? Obviously not, no—who ever heard of a corrupt Louisiana politician?—and yet The New York Times seems to be strongly implying that he is:

Religious people don't attend religious services as often as they used to, probably because they're boring. But what if you could take your awesome guns to churches, mosques, synagogues, etc., as you will now be able to in Louisiana?

The punditocracy say that Mike Huckabee's clemency towards a prisoner who went on to shoot four police officers has given his potential 2012 opponents a gift. But he's not the only GOP hopeful who's written his own attack ads.

The Republican party wouldn't be living up to its obstructionist reputation if they didn't offer a rebuttal to Obama's health care speech before Congress tomorrow. But rather than letting Bobby Jindal create another PR disaster, they're trotting out a doctor!

Other people blowing out candles today: Gina Gershon is turning 47. Elizabeth Hurley is turning 44. Eric Villency, the furniture store heir and husband of Kimberly Guilfoyle, is 34. Faith Evans is 36. ABC News correspondent Kate Snow is turning 40. Journalist Nat Hentoff turns 84. Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal is 38. Leelee Sobieski is 27. Actress Jeanne Tripplehorn turns 46. Olympic figure skater Tara Lipinski is turning 27. Defense attorney F. Lee Bailey is 76. And nightlife impresarios—and business partners—Mark Birnbaum and Eugene Remm are 32 and 31, respectively.

Bobby Jindal isn't officially running for president in 2012. But he sure isn't wasting any time filling up his campaign coffers. Jindal lied about a dead hero too, so it's extra fun! Sheriff Harry Lee of Jefferson Parish organized volunteers during Katrina to rescue residents trapped on rooftops. This was supposedly against some of that damned bureaucratic red tape or something, and in Jindal's telling he marched into Lee's office and said if the rowboats didn't go out NOW they could just arrest the governor, or something. Well, this was a lie, because Jindal wasn't even in Jefferson Parish when the flood waters were that high. His office admitted that the story was bullshit, then tried to cover for Bobby by claiming that they meant that the dramatic phone conversation happened days later.

Jack McBrayer's self-deprecating jokes about his voice double Bobby Jindal came during a test run of Jimmy Fallon's Late Night. Test run for SNL is more like it.

Last night, as Bobby Jindal began his response to Obama's speech by wandering into his opulent mansion and sitting down to read us a story, Chris Matthews was heard on-air saying "Oh, god." Today, he explained why.
