Chevy Chase Is Leaving Community, Effective Immediately

Taylor Berman · 11/21/12 07:57PM

After three and a half years, Chevy Chase is done at Community. The agreement to part ways was apparently mutual and will take place immediately. Chase's departure won't have much of an impact on the critically-acclaimed show's fourth season - all but two of the season's episodes had already been filmed – but it will likely have a positive impact on the sitcom's morale.

America's Meanest Business Owner Will Make His Employees Regret Getting Health Care Coverage

Hamilton Nolan · 11/15/12 01:56PM

After Barack Obama's reelection, some business owners went so far as laying off workers and attributing it to fear of new taxes; other employers vowed to reduce employees' hours in order to avoid paying for their health care under Obamacare. Those actions are despicable in their own way, but at least they may be defended as a sort of rational business move. How exciting that one fine business owner has figured out a way to become a bigger asshole on this issue than any of his peers.

He's Not Chevy, He's an Asshole: A History of Chevy Chase's Horrific Behavior

Max Read · 04/05/12 02:20PM

"When you become famous, you've got like a year or two where you act like a real asshole," Bill Murray told Tom Shales and James Miller when they interviewed him for Live from New York, their oral history of Saturday Night Live. "You can't help yourself. It happens to everybody. You've got like two years to pull it together — or it's permanent." He was talking, of course, about Chevy Chase, his opponent in a famous backstage fistfight. The two are friendly now, and it seems as though Murray wanted to imply that Chase had "pulled himself together" following his sudden rise to fame.

Bloodthirsty Bully Harvey Weinstein Releases Movie About Bullies

John Cook · 03/30/12 04:00PM

Today marks the release of Bully, a "moving and troubling documentary" about the victims of adolescent bullying. It's being distributed by the Weinstein Company, which is co-run by Harvey Weinstein, a monstrous and violent bully who has hurt hundreds of people with his frequent rages and sociopathic lack of concern for the emotional or physical well-being of anyone with less power than himself.

Keith Olbermann: Not Worth It

Hamilton Nolan · 01/05/12 09:43AM

Keith Olbermann is a talented television man. He's agile with words. He's whip-smart, an often penetrating thinker, and seems able to strike the perfect on-air balance between smoldering outrage and smirking "What are we doing here, folks?" acknowledgment of some of television's absurdities. Still. If you are a TV executive who hires this man, you are a fucking idiot.

Bill O'Reilly Attacks Questioner With Umbrella

John Cook · 12/08/11 12:10PM

Corrupt falafelateer Bill O'Reilly loves nothing more than a good old-fashioned ambush interview. Except when he's the ambushee, in which case he will attack you with his umbrella and try to have you arrested. That's what he did last night when an activist armed with a video camera caught him apparently leaving a Newt Gingrich fundraiser.

The Real Victims of the Penn State Scandal: Investment Bankers

Max Read · 11/16/11 09:35PM

If you are unfamiliar with the specifics of the Penn State scandal, you may be under the impression that the real victims are the children who were allegedly raped and otherwise abused by assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. But you couldn't be more wrong! The real victims are Penn State alumni. More specifically: Penn State alumni brokers.
