Bill O'Reilly Attacks Questioner With Umbrella
Corrupt falafelateer Bill O'Reilly loves nothing more than a good old-fashioned ambush interview. Except when he's the ambushee, in which case he will attack you with his umbrella and try to have you arrested. That's what he did last night when an activist armed with a video camera caught him apparently leaving a Newt Gingrich fundraiser.
The activist, Wisconsin community organizer Brendan Lane, spotted O'Reilly on the streets of Washington, D.C., last night outside a Gingrich event and politely asked him if he did indeed attend the fundraiser—a strange place for an ostensible newsman to be. (He's supposed to be objective about which Republican candidate he wants to defeat Obama!)
O'Reilly responded by pushing his umbrella into the camera, nearly knocking Lane over, and saying "Oh, sorry about that," because he is a dick. Then he found a policeman and asked to "press charges" against Lane for daring to ask him a question.
The cop declined (D.C. isn't Nassau County), and O'Reilly was left standing in the rain, wet and balding, with a broken umbrella.
UPDATE: According to Talking Points Memo, which caught up with Lane last night after the encounter, O'Reilly was in town for an event at the White House—which held it's annual media Christmas party last night—and probably just happened to be staying at the same hotel that was hosting the Gingrich event.
