On Friday, we heard about the nonsensical question involving a talking pineapple that was featured on the New York State English Language Arts test, which was recently administered to grades three through eight. But according to a letter that one angry New York City principal sent to the state education commissioner last week, the whole ELA test is chock full of weird questions that no one understands. Maybe a teacher will leak it to us?

Last night, Cher presented her son Chaz Bono with GLAAD's Stephen F. Kolzak Award, and it was kind of amazing. Bono was also honored for the documentary Becoming Chaz, which chronicled his transition from female to male. In the film, Cher admitted some difficulty thinking of Chaz as a man after watching him grow up as a woman. This delightful picture of Cher (and her hair) embracing Bono is a nice reflection of how far they've come.

Last weekend, it was reported that Gibb's condition was very serious, and that "his family [was] keeping vigil at his bedside in a London hospital."

Chuck Colson, Nixon's 'Hatchet Man' Turned Evangelist, Dead at 80

While some will likely lament the passing of Chuck Colson, who died today at age 80, his legacy does not exactly inspire mourning. While he devoted much of his later life to Christianity, Colson went to prison for his involvement in Watergate. To ensure Richard Nixon's reelection, Colson once said he would "walk over my own grandmother."

Zimmerman Could Be Released From Custody Soon

George Zimmerman, now charged with second-degree murder in the killing of Trayvon Martin, could soon be released from custody after a judge set a $150,000 bond for his release. Zimmerman's family will need $15,000, 10 percent of the total bond amount, to have him let out.
