Last week was all about Quentin Tarantino at the New York Post—with the number of articles about the Pulp Fiction director skyrocketing literally infinitely over the last year. After the staggering increase, New Yorkers of a certain age can’t help but be reminded of the last time it seemed like the maverick director appeared in the tabloid this regularly.

Rich Juzwiak · 11/04/15 03:47PM
For too long, gay experience was defined by outsiders who tended to condemn rather than empathize. As reporting has become democratized and stigma has eroded, more and more people who actually live the experience—the real experts—have been able to share it. The new documentary directed by BET’s Clay Cane Holler If You Hear Me: Black and Gay in the Church facilitates that sort of modern sharing in interviews with several black LGBT people who have vast experience with having their identities shaped, tested, and sometimes flat-out rejected by their churches. It dismisses the notion that being gay and Christian is paradoxical and it helps explain why it’s hard for even those who feel maligned by the church have a hard time leaving it. Today, Senator Marco Rubio held a Q&A for “young professionals” at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire. That sounds very boring, and it probably mostly was, except that Rubio gave perhaps the most insane answer possible to the question, “Who would you like to have a beer with who is not a politician?”

Sam Biddle · 11/04/15 12:17PM
The scariest thing about ISIS (if, like most Americans, you are in no actual danger of coming into contact with ISIS) is that the more members (or fanboys) you follow on Twitter, the more they resemble you and your friends, in that we are all petty idiots. Today, one militant is taking a break from building the Caliphate to beef with some guy on social media.
