Jessica Simpson Would Like You to Know She's Pregnant, Horny, and Full of Amniotic Fluid

Leah Beckmann · 03/20/12 10:57AM

Jessica Simpson just loves being pregnant. She loves reveling in her womanly figure, predicting her future daughter's fashion sense, celebrating with big belly photo shoots, and indulging in those whacky cravings. But the thing that Jessica Simpson seems to love most of all? Discussing how being pregnant has turned her into a "fire hydrant" fart monster.

Vomit On the Runway of RuPaul's Drag Race

Rich Juzwiak · 03/20/12 10:33AM

When is a vomiting drag queen not the weirdest part of the show? When the tucked upchucker is then booted without so much as an explanation. That is exactly what happened on last night's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race — womanly wisp Willam threw up and was thrown out. This wasn't necessarily an instance of cause and effect, but it wasn't necessarily unrelated, either. It is, necessarily, a naked ploy for intrigue.

It Is Now Completely Clear to Everyone That Law School Is for Suckers

Hamilton Nolan · 03/20/12 09:38AM

We must admit that we will never ever tire of directing your attention to the accumulation of evidence that "law school" is, by and large, a massive fraud perpetrated upon society's most overacquisitive young driftabouts, and one whose effect is to turn out a massive class of highly indebted functionaries whose skill set is not only undeveloped to the point of worthlessness, but that, when developed, is, for the most part, detrimental to the function of justice. The fact that law school's popularity is crumbling away as the magnitude of the systemic scam becomes ever more apparent can only be taken as a redeeming ray of hope for the future of our nation's collective critical thinking skills.

New York Times Tightens the Screws on Freeloaders

Hamilton Nolan · 03/20/12 08:42AM

Since you're reading this site while you should be doing something more productive, chances are that you're the kind of self-proclaimed "internet-savvy" media consumer who said to yourself last year, "Hey, I don't care that the New York Times started an online paywall, because it comes with 20 free articles per month, and besides, it's full of easy holes for an internet-savvy consumer such as myself!"

Tennessee Bill Could Put Abortion Doctors at Risk

Louis Peitzman · 03/19/12 08:06PM

There's a new bill in the Tennessee House of Representatives, and its seemingly innocuous name is rather misleading. The "Life Defense Act of 2012" (H.B. 3308) would require the Tennessee Department of Health to publish way more information on abortions and on the doctors that provide them.

The Duchess of Cambridge Opens Her Mouth

Louis Peitzman · 03/19/12 07:24PM

Kate Middleton — or the Duchess of Cambridge, if you want to be correct about it — gave her first public speech ever at a children's hospital in Ipswich. This is mostly a big deal because it was the first one, but also because she was anxious. As she told one guest, "I find doing speeches nerve-wracking." See, it's just like that movie The King's Speech, except she's a duchess and the stakes were significantly lower.

Which Beloved Comedian Likes to Force Female Comics to Watch Him Jerk Off?

gawker sources · 03/19/12 06:27PM

Male comedians are weird. They jerk off all the time, and then go on stage and talk about jerking off all the time, for money and laughs. But our nation's most hilarious stand-up comic and critically cherished sitcom auteur adds a thrilling twist to his onanistic escapades: He traps unsuspecting women in his hotel room and makes them stick around until he's done.

Science Says Stop Making Party Balloons, We're Running Out of Helium

Emma Carmichael · 03/19/12 06:01PM

Science! Just when everyone's having a great time, it comes along and tells us to turn down the music. Or, at the very least, to stop blowing up party balloons with helium, you heathens, because you're ruining some very important experiments.
