Kate Middleton — or the Duchess of Cambridge, if you want to be correct about it — gave her first public speech ever at a children's hospital in Ipswich. This is mostly a big deal because it was the first one, but also because she was anxious. As she told one guest, "I find doing speeches nerve-wracking." See, it's just like that movie The King's Speech, except she's a duchess and the stakes were significantly lower.

According to the Guardian, Kate "delivered her maiden speech calmly and with no ad-libs."

Referring to her absent husband, who is in the Falklands with the RAF search and rescue force, she said: "I am only sorry that William can't be here today; he would love it here."

Yes, but what was she wearing? So glad you asked. As always, plenty of attention was paid to the Duchess' impeccable fashion sense. For this event she donned a £139 blue dress from Reiss and a black belt. But wait — eagle-eyed Middleton fans will note that Kate's mother Carole was photographed wearing the same dress in 2010. It's only a matter of time before we see the Duchess and her mum in E! Online's "Bitch Stole My Look!" gallery.
