Following in Apple's iconic footsteps, Facebook over the weekend unveiled two new "cake topper" figures for same-sex couples declaring their marriage status on the social network.

When President Obama spoke out in favor of same-sex marriage, some worried what effect this would have among his black supporters — particularly in terms of the traditionally conservative black church. But a recent poll showed a significant increase in support for marriage equality within the black community: 54 percent in favor, up from 41 percent last year.

Newsweek's May 21 issue will feature a cover story on Obama as the country's first gay president, with an article written by longtime Obama fan and gay political writer Andrew Sullivan. The cover shows Obama adorned with a rainbow halo.

At the Iowa Faith and Freedom Coalition, Rand Paul segued into a conversation about gay marriage with a little bit of comedy. "Call me cynical," he began, "but I wasn't sure [Obama's] views on marriage could get any gayer." Room erupted with laughter.

"Marriage is between one man and one woman," Mitt Romney said in his speech at Liberty University. He earned a standing ovation — which isn't much of a surprise given the audience. Liberty University, founded by evangelical nightmare Jerry Falwell, is arguably the most conservative university in the nation.

Now he's been named to the Out 100 and it seems all his work against gay Americans has been forgiven. Oh, we won't forget a gay traitor so quickly.

Thanks to the New York State Legislature, gay marriages are all the rage right now, but someone might want to tell the owner of Here Comes the Bride, a bridal shop in Somers Point, on the Jersey Shore (the actual shore, not the show). She just refused to sell a lesbian a wedding dress.

Hundreds of gay and lesbian couples across New York state are getting hitched today, thanks to legislation passed on June 24. In New York City alone, 823 couples signed up to marry today, while couples in a dozen other cities across the state also walked down the aisle.
