Shockingly Hateful Letter Targets Family with Autistic Teen
Neetzan Zimmerman · 08/19/13 02:48PMToronto Mayor Rob Ford Wandered the Streets of His City Drunk Tonight
John Cook · 08/09/13 11:04PMToronto Mayor Rob Ford, who was filmed smoking crack cocaine, paid a visit to Toronto's Taste of Danforth Street festival tonight. He apparently got loaded. Above is a video of Ford posted to YouTube tonight, in which he protests to passersby that he hasn't been driving, stops for some photos, and mumbles some other unintelligible things. Below is another video from tonight, in which he appears to be carrying a to-go cup of coffee, perhaps to sober up. There's nothing wrong with a mayor tying one on now and again. Don't smoke crack.

Taylor Berman · 07/01/13 07:36PMJust over a week ago, the owner of a Canadian diner struck up a conversation with a customer, and eventually their talk turned to news about the owner's daughter, who had just been diagnosed with cancer. A few days later, the same customer returned to the diner, again chatted with the owner, and then paid for his meal with a $10,000 check.

Taylor Berman · 06/22/13 09:41AMTim Bartlett, a mechanic from Alberta, Canada, was enjoying a long motorcycle ride down British Columbia's scenic Highway 93 when he spotted something unusual emerging from the woods: a massive wolf. And the wolf didn't just stand there – it chased Bartlett for nearly a mile, at times coming within ten feet of the mechanic.

Canadians of Canada: Where Should the Crackstarter Money Go?
John Cook · 06/17/13 01:07PMAs you may have read, Gawker recently raised $184,689.81 from readers (that's $200,000, less fees extracted by Indiegogo and Paypal) in an effort to purchase and publish a video of Toronto mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine. As you may have also read, the people we were in touch with who had custody of the video have gone to ground. We still hold out hope that a copy or copies of the video exist and, that someone who has access to one of those copies likes money enough to share it with us. But time marches on.

John Cook · 06/06/13 12:36PMLast night, Gawker identified the house in Toronto's Etobicoke neighborhood that was the backdrop for a photo of mayor Rob Ford standing with two men who were later gunned down in a gangland-style shooting. Days after we published that photo—along with an account of having watched a video of Ford smoking crack cocaine—a resident of that home and his girlfriend were attacked by a man wielding a metal pipe, who had come looking for the video, Gawker has learned.
The Rob Ford Crack Video Might Be "Gone"
John Cook · 06/04/13 04:43PMBefore the Rob Ford Crackstarter—our crowdfunding effort to purchase and publish a video of Toronto mayor Rob Ford smoking crack cocaine—reached its $200,000 goal last month, we let everyone know that we had lost contact with the people who have custody of the video. At the end of last week, after a long silence, the video's owner reached out to the intermediary we have been dealing with. He told him the video is "gone."
