New York Governor Andrew Cuomo officially shut New York City's subway system down Monday night in anticipation of a potentially "crippling" blizzard, but according to reports, the trains are still running—city residents just can't ride them.

In Tuesday's State of the State address, New York governor Andrew Cuomo is expected to announce that he will lead a trade mission to Cuba, The Wall Street Journal reports. It's been a tough year for Andrew! He's earned it.

Having sworn to rid Albany of its toxic and comical culture of gross corruption, he promptly and comically corrupted his own reform effort. The Times editorial board says so—that Cuomo "broke his most important promise."

Gov. Andrew Cuomo and lawmakers announced today a tentative deal to legalize medical marijuana in New York state, restricted to patients who consume edibles, take pills, or vaporize. Cuomo's administration were reportedly successful in their push for a no-smoking provision in the deal.

It will already be less risky to possess marijuana in New York City in 2013 after a Manhattan judge ruled against the NYPD's "stop and frisk" program. Well, okay, that applies to minorities, who were the only ones arrested and jailed for possessing small amounts of marijuana discovered during "stop and frisk" in the first place. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's pot decriminalization bill may be all but dead but the issue is still alive in New Jersey where the state legislature is considering the idea. All that stands in the way is the promise of a veto from Governor Chris Christie, who won't go against federal drug policy. And that's funny because he's perfectly willing to flout federal gambling policies.
