Hiram Monserrate, who was charged with a misdemeanor assault for dragging his girlfriend around and slashing her face with broken glass, was voted out by 53-8 as a result. He said it was an injustice to those who elected him, and that he'll appeal. [NYP]

Face-slashing pol Hiram Monserrate was found not guilty of felony assault, but they got him on a misdemeanor. He'll be sentenced in December. But now his fate rests with Albany Democrats. So he's fine.
