U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder will announce his resignation today, according to a report from NPR. Holder will reportedly remain in his position until a successor is confirmed later this year or in early 2015.

Police in Saugus, Massachusetts are searching for a man who is accused of drugging, raping, and leaving for dead a 16-year-old girl. He, along with two others involved in the assault, allegedly posted video of the rape to the photo and video sharing app Snapchat.

New York Times Op-Ed columnist David Brooks' son is currently serving in the Israeli Army, a fact that might qualify as a conflict of interest if Brooks was writing anything besides simpering pop sociology interspersed with quiet cries for help.

Marlene Pinnock, the woman whose brutal beating at the hands of a California Highway Patrol officer was captured on video in July of this year, will receive a $1.5 million settlement in a deal reached this week, the Associated Press reports. The officer will resign.

Like a giant trying to hold a human baby, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and his big, dumb hands dropped a helpless groundhog on February 2 (Groundhog's day). The poor hog died of internal injuries, and "then the coverup began," according to this New York Post exclusive.

"Unruly costumed performers become global menace" is the headline of a story in the "News" section of a major metropolitan newspaper today. The story concerns people who don plush, oversized cartoon character costumes as a profession.
