Ever since HBO’s very good investigative pornography show “The Jinx” exploded this past spring, viewers and critics have wondered how much creator Andrew Jarecki’s own digging influenced the active murder investigations in Los Angeles and Westchester, N.Y., into his subject, the sociopathic millionaire Robert Durst. A freedom of information request filed by Gawker suggests the two are intertwined.

At a press conference this afternoon, President Obama spoke about the shooting last night at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston that left nine people dead. “There’s something particularly heartbreaking about death happening in a place where we seek solace and we seek peace, in a place of worship,” Obama said.

Buzzfeed reports that Sharonda Coleman-Singleton was one of the nine people killed last night in the Charleston church shooting. Coleman-Singleton was a reverend, a track coach, and a mother of three.

What Will the Upstate Fugitives Look Like If They Remain At Large?

On Wednesday, the New York State Police released “progression photos” of prison escapees Richard Matt and David Sweat, showing what the fugitives might look like after ten days on the run. But police still don’t appear to have any idea where Matt and Sweat are hiding, and unless there is a break in the case, those pictures will soon need updating. To aid the manhunt, Gawker has produced a series of images showing what these dangerous fugitives may look like if they continue to evade capture.
