Happy Easter From Ryan Gosling
Louis Peitzman · 04/08/12 01:04PM
A Twitter account purporting to be Ryan Gosling is responsible for hiding 200 Gosling-themed eggs around New York City. Although it's doubtful that this is actually the actor's doing — he's never been that big on Twitter himself — it still feels like a delightful Easter miracle. Besides, if he's saving people from speeding cars, who's to say he's not helping everyone get in the holiday spirit with a citywide Easter egg hunt?
Titanic Fans Are No Match for Hunger Games Devotees
Louis Peitzman · 04/08/12 12:32PM
A $17.4 million weekend gross for Titanic isn't exactly sad — but it's a little disappointing, given that at one point, Titanic was the highest grossing film of all time. James Cameron's 3D conversion could not compete with The Hunger Games, which once again took the top box-office spot, this time with $33.5 million. The film's current domestic gross is now more than $300 million.

Last week, writer John Derbyshire gained fast notoriety for a shockingly racist article "The Talk: Nonblack Version," in which he regurgitated a lot of tired racist stereotyping under the guise of "public safety" for white people. The immediate outrage did not go unnoticed — Derbyshire was fired from his job as a columnist for The National Review.
18-Year-Old High School Student and Former Teacher Call It Quits
Louis Peitzman · 04/07/12 04:42PM
Movies like Never Been Kissed and TV series like Pretty Little Liars have showed us the lighter side of student-teacher romance. The reality is far less pleasant, but for a time 18-year-old Jordan Powers and her former teacher, 41-year-old James Hooker, were trying to make it work. That relationship ended, however, when Hooker was arrested for — big shocker — sexually assaulting another teenage girl 14 years ago.

Louis Peitzman · 04/07/12 01:00PM
Yesterday, Kim Kardashian was spotted with something that may have been a hickey. Today, TMZ reports that it totally is with the eye-grabbing headline, "HICKEY CONFIRMATION." Kim ostensibly earned this hickey from Kanye West, some time after seeing The Hunger Games but before eating pizza. (The timeline is still rough — stay glued to TMZ for updates.)

Reminder: Newt Gingrich Is Still Running for President
Louis Peitzman · 04/07/12 10:52AM
Now that Mitt Romney has basically sealed the Republican nomination, you'd think the other candidates might concede defeat and offer their support. And indeed, Newt Gingrich is open about the fact that he's not going to be the Republican candidate — but that doesn't mean he's going to stop campaigning.

Matt Toder · 04/07/12 08:55AMMitt Romney's nomination is all but decided at this point and Bill O'Reilly has moved his show's narrative ahead to the general election. During the week on the O'Reilly Factor, he made the point that only the debates will really matter and that the rest of it is just "bloviating." Does that mean he'll tone down the rhetoric at all? Of course not.
