In an interview Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation,” helpless duckling and presidential candidate John Ellis “JEB!” Bush said that, while the idea of frontrunner Donald Trump recieving the Republican nomination is “kind of scary,” he would support Trump, “because anybody is better than Hillary Clinton.”

Still, despite offering his hypothetical support, Bush doesn’t think Trump will get the nomination. “I’ll let the voters decide about Donald Trump,” he said. “I’m pretty confident that the more they hear of him the less likely he’s going to get the Republican nomination.”

“I just think he’s uninformed,” Bush said. “He knows what he’s saying. He’s smart. He’s playing you guys like a fiddle—the press—by saying outrageous things and garnering attention. That’s his strategy, is to dominate the news.”

(Earlier this month, Bush’s national security advisor described Trump’s proposal to force Muslim Americans to register in a national database as “fascism.”)

Bush also expressed doubt about Trump’s grasp of national security issues: “He’s all over the map, misinformed at best and preying on people’s fears at worst.”

“The net effect of this is, in these really serious times, he’s not a serious leader,” the man calling himself ‘JEB!’ argued.
