Iran Smacks Down Hillary Clinton's 'Virtual Embassy'
It took Iranian authorities mere hours to blockade "Virtual Embassy Tehran," an American attempt to restore influence in an Islamic republic with which it ended formal relations in 1979. Apparently Hillary Clinton's website was a "cybercrime" and a "spy plot."
Iran's Fars news agency reported that authorities blocked iran.usembassy.gov to "neutralized another sly plot by the Americans." Happily for the Great Satan, Iranians can still route around the filter using virtual private network software, allowing them to read U.S. Secretary of State Clinton's eloquent welcome: "Please visit our Facebook and Twitter pages."
