The Hilarious Emails of Hollywood's Child Bride: 'We Want Money'
Jeremy Baumhower produces radio tours, bringing musicians like Nick Cannon to major radio stations across America. Since Hollywood child bride Courtney Stodden is, ostensibly, a country singer, he contacted her using the email address listed on her website. The resulting exchange is comedic gold. Updated.
Sixteen-year-old Courtney is managed by her mother Krista; 51-year-old husband Doug Hutchison also has a hand in her career. Though these emails' automatic signature is Hutchison's, Baumhower is convinced that he was corresponding with the child bride herself. Why? Because the emailer demands $3 million for the interview, a laughably large sum that you wouldn't ask for if you had ever negotiated such deals or worked in Hollywood before. Or just, you know, been an adult.
For reference, even Casey Anthony may not break $3 million for her first interview; Baumhower estimates that Stodden and Hutchison earned low five-figure sums for previous interviews.
We emailed Courtney (or her "team") too, and will update if we hear back.

Subject: Radio Tour Request for CourtneyDoug, Krista, Courtney,
My name is Jeremy Baumhower and I am the executive producer of Mass Media Prep, which consists of 660 radio morning shows across the country. We would LOVE to get Courtney, or any combination of you three for a radio tour. A tour is back to back interviews via the phone with the biggest shows in the country. We would ask for 2-3 hours and you would be in front of 10 to 20M people. We would make every show play Courtney's music and you can promote anything you wish. Please call me when you get this email. Congratulations on your wedding!!
Thanks
JB

it would be numerous radio shows at 8-9 minutes a hit.. I would love to pay that amount but we do not have any funds. Really trying to help her music career is what my thought was ..

I understand. Thought we could help Courtney's career by putting her music first. If you have a change of heart… please do not hesitate to call or email.

Update:
Doug says his email was hacked: "I've changed my password, my security question, nothing seems to work. So I surrendered—I cancelled all of my AOL accounts that I've had for 13 years." By phone, Courtney's mother repeated that the email had been hacked, and that she questions Baumhower's intent.
