A guy in Nashville went to go see 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan perform a comedy show last weekend and Morgan said some wildly offensive things about gay people. The guy took to his Facebook wall in protest. Now the gays have mobilized!

The fellow's name is Kevin Rogers and this is what he had to say about what he saw:

Mr. Morgan took it upon himself to mention about how he feels all this gay shit was crazy and that women are a gift from God and that "Born this Way" is bullshit, gay is a choice, and the reason he knows this is exactly because "God don't make no mistakes" (referring to God not making someone gay cause that would be a mistake). He said that there is no way a woman could love and have sexual desire for another woman, that's just a woman pretending because she hates a fucking man. He took time to visit the bullshit of this bullying stuff and informed us that the gays needed to quit being pussies and not be whining about something as insignificant as bullying. He mentioned that gay was something kids learn from the media and programming, and that bullied kids should just bust some ass and beat those other little fuckers that bully them, not whine about it. He said if his son that was gay he better come home and talk to him like a man and not [he mimicked a gay, high pitched voice] or he would pull out a knife and stab that little N (one word I refuse to use) to death. He mentioned that Barack Obama needed to man up and quit being all down with this just because he has a wife and two daughters. All of this being followed by thunderous cheer and "You go Tracys". Tracy then said he didn't fucking care if he pissed off some gays, because if they can take a fucking dick up their ass... they can take a fucking joke.

Yiiiiikes! I mean, that "if you can take a dick you can take a joke" line was in his HBO special last year too, as was some of the lighter gay stuff included above, but stabbing people to death? No thanks. As comedy hobbyist Gabe Delahaye points out, the "I'm gonna stab my kid if he's gay" joke is really never funny.

Hearing this dog whistle from miles away, GLAAD has gotten involved and is demanding an apology from the gonzo comedian, because GLAAD never has anything better to do than shriek at comedians or whatever. (I respect the work that GLAAD does, I just wish sometimes they did less of the work they do.) Whether or not they get Tracy Morgan to admit that he's an asshole, which he undoubtedly is, remains to be seen.

Meanwhile the rest of us are left holding the bag, wondering whether we're allowed to like 30 Rock or Brian Fellows anymore. (Hint: we are, probably.) But fuck this noise. We all really should just be watching this wonderful angel from heaven perform his "Vogue" routine and smiling, because it's a summer Friday and it's too exhausting to get worked up over yet another comedian saying something hideous about gay people. Just dance through it, in your socks if possible.

Update: Morgan has now apologized, issuing a statement to various gay rights groups:

I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville. I'm not a hateful person and don't condone any kind of violence against others. While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.

OK, great. Can we go back to enjoying our hungover Friday and watching the "Vogue" video while eating french fries now? Thanks.
