Attention, nerds! The Cannes Film Festival held its award ceremony on Sunday, handing Terence Malick's Tree of Life the top prize and giving Kirsten Dunst the Best Actress award for Jumanji.

Or, sorry, she won for having to sit next to the Lars Von Trier when he told everyone he was a Nazi. The runner-up Grand Prix was given to two films, Kid With a Bike and Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, while Jean Dujardin, of the silent film The Artist, won best actor. Danish director Nicholas Winding Refn was awarded best director for Drive, which stars the internet's boyfriend Ryan Gosling.

Lars Von Trier's Melancholia received no awards aside from Dunst's. Tree of Life, a seventeen-hour drama about how dinosaurs turned into Brad Pitt, received a mixed reception when it was screened earlier this week, but only because the French don't smoke enough pot or read enough Kierkegaard. Malick didn't show up to the ceremony, and the award was accepted by the film's producers Sarah Green and Bill Pohlad.
