Richard Lawson · 03/10/11 11:49AM

Lucky 13! Last night was the premiere of your Idol season 10 finalists, the small handful of folks from which you will be forced to pick a winner. What'd you think?? Sigh, yeah, me too.

Miley Cyrus Freaks Out at a Paparazzo, and Other Confrontations

Maureen O'Connor · 03/10/11 11:08AM

Miley Cyrus snaps at a paparazzo. Christina Aguilera returns to the scene of her public intoxication. Lindsay Lohan prepares for her big day in court. Brangelina's children "turn violent." Thursday gossip wonders what Lindsay Lohan will wear to court today.

Which Actress Went on a Girl Scout Cookie Binge?

Brian Moylan · 03/10/11 10:45AM

Because of a recent breakup, this famous lady went on a binge (and purge) of thin mints and vodka. Another actress will call up journalists who write negative stories about her and scream at them. Someone needs to give this girl a cookie!

No, Michelle Obama Is Not Killing Cap'n Crunch

Hamilton Nolan · 03/10/11 10:20AM

Whether you're a child, an adult desperately trying to cling to the bygone symbols of childhood, or simply have a poorly developed palate, the fact is, you love Cap'n Crunch™ brand breakfast cereal, despite all of the good reasons not too. Well, good news, corn syrup fetishists: contrary to published reports, your beloved cartoon-clad corn byproduct nuggets are not disappearing.

Meet The Six Certified Facebook Billionaires

Adrian Chen · 03/10/11 01:44AM

Alright: the latest Forbes' billionaire list is out. Now we can all get out our Sharpies and draw circles around which billionaires we're gonna date this year. Kidding: billionaires only date other billionaires and underwear models.

Mel Gibson Pleads Guilty to Abuse

Max Read · 03/10/11 01:04AM

Mel Gibson, the violent anti-Semitic actor whose terrifying phone threats thrilled a nation last summer, has pleaded guilty to a charge of misdemeanor battery against his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva and will likely avoid jail. According to Gibson's lawyer Blair Berk, Gibson sought a plea deal with "the best interests of his young daughter... in mind"; in a remarkable stroke of luck, the best interests of young Lucia Gibson coincide with those of her father's upcoming movie, The Beaver, which sees a wide release in May. Wisconsin State Senate Passes Anti-Union Bill

Adrian Chen · 03/09/11 09:29PM

Republicans passed Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker's anti-union bill tonight 18-1. After all the brouhaha, the Senator-fleeing, the Senator-tackling, the Koch-prank-calling, Republicans were able to use some legislative black magick which allowed them to pass the bill even while Democrats were still camped out in Illinois.

Chinese Activists Less Welcome on Facebook Than Mark Zuckerberg's Dog

Adrian Chen · 03/09/11 08:26PM

Bad timing: Just as Mark Zuckerberg's (admittedly cute) dog Beast joined Facebook, well-known Chinese activist Michael Anti (ne Zhao Jing) was booted off—his profile and hundreds of contacts vanished. The reason: Anti's use of an Westernized pen name to register his account violated Facebook's dumb, strict real name policy. "Facebook has always been based on a real name culture," is the company line.

Real Housewives of New York: Drunken Misery in the Desert, Plus Snakes!

Richard Lawson · 03/09/11 06:22PM

Here's a teaser/preview/whatever for the upcoming fourth season of Real Housewives of New York, Bravo's second-eldest child in its terrible X-Files "Home"-esque franchise family. All looks like business as usual, with Ramona getting drunk, Jill getting upset, LuAnn insulting people's appearances, and Kelly making sand angels in the sand. But lo, what's this? Alex McCord, long our silent beanstalk, seems to have "found her voice." Which, in Housewives parlance, means she's getting involved in more fights. Specifically, with Red Sonja Morgan and the Countess. Oh, and they go to the desert just like in Sex and the City 2 (what a great, great movie to emulate) and Ramona wears a burqa, because of course.

A Picture of Hitler's Mistress in Blackface

Maureen O'Connor · 03/09/11 05:42PM

Sometimes a picture is worth so many words, it renders you speechless. Life recently digitized a cache of Eva Braun's personal photographs. Among them was a surrealist Nazi nightmare labeled "Me as Al Jolson." It dates to 1937 and shows Hitler's future bride in blackface and drag. [Life, image via LIFE.com/Getty Images]

Frequently Nude Actress to Play Sarah Palin

Richard Lawson · 03/09/11 04:46PM

Move over Tina Fey, there's a new Sarah in town. And she just might take her clothes off. Or not. Probably not. Also today: more pilot news including a Who's the Boss update of sorts, more Survivor is coming your way, as is more Zach Braff.

Running a Lot Will Kill You

Hamilton Nolan · 03/09/11 04:33PM

Will running kill you, as you always suspected, and as you vocally informed your mom and dad and P.E. coach and personal trainer and random passersby at the gym and the park and on the subway? Yes. Yes it will.

The American Idol Contestants' Enormous Dream Mansion

Richard Lawson · 03/09/11 04:01PM

What's an extra cruel way to tease the American Idol finalists with wealth and fame only to tear the dream out of their hands one by one until no one is left? Put them in a seriously huge, $100,000/week rental mansion, so they can feel like kings and queens (mostly queens) for a day or two before they are sent tumbling, so so far, back down to miserable wannabe obscurity.

The Great Bike Debate

Brian Moylan · 03/09/11 03:57PM

Why is everyone so damn worked up bike lanes, those green strips of pavement that have been popping up all over New York (and causing disputes) in the past few years? A New Yorker scribe is virulently opposed to them, and now everyone seems opposed to him.

What We've Learned from the Spider-Man Debacle

Richard Lawson · 03/09/11 03:09PM

Not only is director Julie Taymor supposedly leaving Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, but the whole production plans to shut down for a few weeks. Yikes! An unmitigated, unprecedented (no show in Broadway history has ever run this many preview performances) disaster. Well, only creatively for now, but one would think the finances will eventually suffer. That said, is there any knowledge to be gained from this whole mess? Yes, a few things!
