Bad news for downtown scenesters wanting a $12 cup of tea and a vegan muffin: At approximately 9 AM this morning, someone was stabbed on Rivington Street between Orchard and Ludlow, just outside of downtown technobaldie Moby's Teany teahouse.

Oh, how quickly we replace the ones we love. Just weeks after Jane founder Jane Pratt announced her retirement, Fairchild has found a replacement. Ladies and ladies (okay, maybe 2 or 3 gents care), meet your new Jane editor, Ms. Brandon Holley. 38 years young, Holley comes from the top editorial throne of ELLEgirl and enjoys surfing, horesback riding, and drag racing in New Jersey. CNN via ITN: Security alert on a London bus near King's Cross, somewhere on Gray's Inn Road (a very busy area). Traffic has been stopped, the nearby tube station has been evacuated, and "a lot of police around the area."

Now this is shock and awe: Lachlan Murdoch, the 33-year-old Chief Operating Hottie for his father Rupert's world domination machine, News Corp., has announced that he is resigning from the company as of August 31. There's a Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader metaphor somewhere in here, but we're too flustered to work it out.

More bad news from across the pond: It's being reported that three subways stations in London have been evacuated and there is possible some sort of bus incident on Hackney Road. Reports are beyond sketchy, but apparently there were gunshots heard on the platform of the Warren station (which, located in central London, is very close to the Kings Cross station where last week's trauma went down). One London outlet is reporting that a passenger has phoned in to say that some sort of "nail bomb" on went off on a platform, while another report claims that a passenger was wearing a backpack that may have exploded and then filled the train with smoke.
