It looks like Anderson Cooper may have some competition on his hands:

Two days ago, CNN's Haiti coverage reached a strange climax, as Sanjay Gupta and Anderson Cooper morphed into a team of life-saving reporters/heroes. Tonight, Gupta and Cooper were just a couple of journalists who have maybe seen too much.

• The messiest TV feud in years may be nearing its end. Conan O'Brien and NBC are said to be close to signing a deal that would allow Conan to walk away from The Tonight Show with $32.5 million in hand. He wouldn't be able to host a show on another network until September under terms of the agreement. And it remains unclear if he'll be able to take some of the memorable characters he created with him, like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog or the Masturbating Bear. [TMZ]
• Has Jennifer Aniston finally found love? Probably not, but she's reportedly hooking up with Gerard Butler again. After taking pictures together on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, Aniston and Butler were supposedly seen "making out" backstage and were "attached at the hip all night." [P6]
• Madonna may be looking to add to her collection of kids. According to a Brit tabloid, the 51-year-old singer wants to have a baby with her Brazilian boytoy Jesus Luz since she has "endless love in her heart for another child." [Sun]
• Tiger Woods may be staying at Pine Grove, a sex rehab facility in Mississippi, if you happen to be looking for him, or you just need the name of a place that will treat your own compulsion to sleep with hookers and waitresses. [Us]

Tonight on CNN, a special two-hour edition of Larry King Live is underway. The official point of the broadcast is to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. Unofficially, it's about the celebrities and their precious "Tweet Suite."

Anderson Cooper introduced a new segment on his show tonight called 'What's Next.' And because the Segway is somehow still the ultimate shorthand for 'the future' he introduced the segment twirling around on one of the mobile awkwardness generators.

• Prepare to enter the third dimension. ESPN plans to launch a 3D channel in June. And Discovery, Imax and Sony are teaming up on a 3D channel, too.
• Has Kathy Griffin been banned from CNN following her risqué performance alongside Anderson Cooper on New Year's Eve? Maybe yes, maybe no.

CNN decided it was going to enlist Kathy Griffin, Lance Bass, and Anderson Cooper to give them a New Year's Eve as big and sparkly as the crystal monstrosity in Times Square. They got what they wanted, which they hated.

Vanity Fair's new Tiger Woods cover story doesn't have a Tiger interview, and its Tiger beefcake photos are all of pre-scandal vintage. It just makes us consider the tantalizing magazine story possibilities that are still waiting to be written.

Watching CNN's New Year's Eve with Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin has almost been reduced to a countdown to when Kathy says something inappropriate. This year she deliberately has a little trouble with the pronunciation of Balloon Boy's first name.

The only thing that'd be less predictable than this is if she'd actually taken a bump while doing the weather ("It's SNOWAAAANG!"). But: Kathy Griffin provided YouTube gold ringing in the new year with Anderson Cooper on CNN. Observe:

The eight-guidos-in-a-house reality show is MTV's biggest hit in years, but this year Christmas and New Year's Eves land on the show's Thursday night slot. Should they air a show no one will watch or risk further cast overexposure?

CNN Exec.1: Since our usual audience of crotchety senior citizens will be asleep, how will we attract viewers for the NYE countdown? CNN Exec.2: I know, let's get Anderson to call some of his cool gay friends, for a party.
