Last week, Facebook found itself at the center of a firestorm over a page set up calling for a third Palestinian intifada. The page was 'liked' by more than 350,000 users and condemned by the Israeli government and the Anti-Defamation league. Ultimately Facebook pulled it down because it said administrators and members were participating in ""direct calls for violence" in violation of its policies.
While Libyan rebels can't seem to hold any ground in a protracted fight with forces loyal to Muammar Qaddafi, the Brother Leader's slimy son Seif al-Islam has come up with an ingenious proposal: to put himself in charge of a "transition to constitutional democracy," according to the Times, speaking with diplomats in the know. That's pretty rich coming from a guy who last month said of the rebellion, "We will not be tolerant. We will fight to the end," and blamed terrorists for the unrest as opposed to his family's four decades of repression. But hey, he's gotta try something, right? And we're sure he'd be willing to relinquish whatever power he gives himself once that "transition" happens, too.

Remember Transocean Ltd., the company that owned the BP-operated Deepwater Horizon oil rig that exploded in a hellish ball of fire, killing 11 workers and setting off the massive Gulf oil spill last year? In documents filed with the SEC on Friday, the company announced it was handing out bonuses to senior executives for overseeing the "best year in safety performance in our company's history." Perhaps that's because, as Transocean CEO Steve Newman wrote in a statement, "Of the 126-member crew [on the Deepwater Horizon], 115 were safely evacuated." He also points out that only 9 of the 11 dead were Transocean employees.
