Leave ISIS (Books & Gifts) Alone

Ashley Feinberg · 11/18/15 06:31PM

A deeply confused pack of hoodlums has been terrorizing a local ISIS den (of books and other assorted gifts) in Denver ever since the (unaffiliated) ISIS-perpetrated attacks in Paris last week. Now, the store’s owners have a message for the world: Please leave ISIS (Books & Gifts) alone.

Rick Santorum is many things: For one thing, he’s a Taurus. He’s also, surprisingly enough, still running for president. But did you know he’s also kind of an idiot: “The president’s policy is to keep ISIS within their bounds; ISIS’s objective is to keep their territorial integrity. Now, what does that sounds like? It sounds like president Obama is in cahoots with the strategy of ISIS to maintain their territorial integrity.”

Real GOP Voters: Ben Carson Is "Professor Xavier," Made of Dinosaur Bones

Sam Biddle · 11/18/15 04:28PM

The Annenberg public polling firm just released the findings of Republican voter focus group, in which each candidate is described with a litany of the worst and most confusing metaphors: Donald Trump is “Dennis the Menace: ‘doesn’t necessarily have bad intentions, but he can screw some things up.’”

Hamilton Nolan · 11/18/15 04:22PM

New poll: “13.9% of respondents said they had been polled on politics previously. Of those, 18.4% said they lied on a previous poll.” Stupid general public.

Jealous of Donald Trump's Body? It Can Be Yours

Allie Jones · 11/18/15 04:11PM

What if I told you that you could lose 15 lbs. in five months with no calorie-counting, treadmills, or embarrassing weigh-ins? You can even eat snacks. All you have to do is work yourself into blindly racist huff one-to-three times per day, and you will see results. Just ask Donald Trump!

Carson Campaign Says "NO" to Allowing Syrian Refugees Into Imaginary U.S. States

Andy Cush · 11/18/15 03:48PM

Imagine a bold reinvention of U.S. geography. Vermont, home of the dreaded Bernie Sanders, is forced to merge with Connecticut, and the rest of New England marches northward in celebration of the socialist purge. The Carson campaign would like you to know: If such an imaginary hybrid state did exist in real life, Carson would definitely not support Syrians taking refuge there.

ISIS Calls Anonymous "Idiots"

Ashley Feinberg · 11/18/15 02:30PM

It’s generally safe to assume that anything coming from the propaganda-spewing terrorist organization ISIS is deeply, incontrovertibly wrong. But when it comes to overgrown hacker collective Anonymous—ISIS is, for once, right.

Condé Nast Held in Contempt for Publishing Michael Wolff Column

J.K. Trotter · 11/18/15 01:48PM

Earlier this year, England’s attorney general accused the magazine publisher Condé Nast of interfering with the 2013 News of the World phone-hacking trial by permitting British GQ to publish a courtroom report—excerpted here—by the American media columnist Michael Wolff. The charges were brazenly contemptuous of press freedom, but as we noted at the time, they apparently inspired Condé to erase nearly every trace of Wolff’s column from the internet. Today, the Lord Chief Justice of London’s High Court of Justice ruled against Condé in an eleven-page decision, holding the publisher in contempt of court:
