Real Housewives of New York: Le Freaks Say Chic

Brian Moylan · 07/15/11 12:28PM

Contrary to popular belief, video has not killed the radio star and on last night's episode of Big Apple Diaries we saw that videos have in fact killed all the senses instead, mostly the sense of hearing. Oh, and there was a war over breakfast.

Fox and Friends' Hilariously Pathetic Coverage of the Murdoch Hacking Scandal

Jim Newell · 07/15/11 12:05PM

The dingbats at Fox News' illiterate dementia variety hour, Fox and Friends, finally got around to "covering" the News Corp. hacking scandal that's giving their parent company overlord, Rupert Murdoch, so many problems these days. It is one of the sadder bits of television you'll ever see, right up there with... every other Fox and Friends segment that's ever aired, probably.

Don’t Crash Your Jetpack Into the Ocean on Live TV

Remy Stern · 07/15/11 12:01PM

Things were looking so good for John! He was at the beautiful San Diego Yacht Club-on TV! He had a million dollar smile. He had an awesome aqua-jetpack. Then he smashed the anchor and careened into the water. [Gizmodo]

Carla Bruni: Oui, I'm Pregnant

Maureen O'Connor · 07/15/11 11:29AM

Just in case you feared the giant swell in her belly was a tumor, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has finally confirmed her pregnancy. The French first lady and anal play enthusiast says she doesn't know the gender, and did not specify how many months along she is. Tabloids speculate her fetus is a week or two shy of six months. I'm not sure how they reached such a specific date, but suspect it had something to do with a hacked cellphone hidden under a mattress. Unless Nicolas Sarkozy's sympathy bump gave it away. Roger Ailes Met With Gov. Haley Barbour Three Weeks Before 2010 Elections

John Cook · 07/15/11 11:24AM

Add Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour to the list of GOP pols that Fox News CEO Roger Ailes schmoozes with. According to records obtained by Gawker under the Mississippi Public Records Act, Barbour met with Ailes at News Corporation's New York headquarters for an hour on October 14, 2010—just three weeks before the midterm elections in which Barbour played a major role.

Food Companies Voluntarily Agree to Change Nothing

Hamilton Nolan · 07/15/11 11:01AM

You can't accuse Big Food companies of failing to care about America's health. If Americans die, who will buy all the Cheetos and Kool Aid, for example? That's why Big Food is willing to make minor cosmetic concessions—for you!

Breaking Bad is About to Get Really Good

Studio@Gawker · 07/15/11 11:00AM

After an agonizing wait, AMC's award-winning Breaking Bad is back for its fourth season—and you can get your first fix this Sunday. When last we saw chemistry teacher turned meth-maker Walter White, things had just gone from bad to really, really bad—and this season is looking just as bleak. And by bleak we mean nail-bitingly, explosively, gun-wieldingly, drug-dealingly badass.

Bin Laden Was Plotting a 9/11/11 Attack When We Offed Him

John Cook · 07/15/11 10:57AM

The Wall Street Journal has new details on what intelligence, exactly, we got from the Abbottabad compound Osama bin Laden was living in when he was hunted down and killed by Navy SEALs. Top among the discoveries: Bin Laden wanted to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with another 9/11.

John Carter: Taylor Kitsch Blasts Off

Richard Lawson · 07/15/11 09:51AM

Here's a trailer for Disney/Pixar's (yup) John Carter, a space epic based on Edgar Rice Burroughs's old-timey Barsoom pulp novel series. This is to be Taylor Kitsch's big star-maker, so will it work?

Which Singer's Long Lost Naked Pictures May Come Out?

Brian Moylan · 07/15/11 09:07AM

A famous musician's spurned lover asks advice about whether or not to release his nude photos. This actress is on the prowl for dates. And this actress spent 3K on sex toys. Wonder if she'll use them in a naked photo shoot?

Pink Floyd Guitarist's Son Jailed for LSD-Fueled Attack on Royals

Jeff Neumann · 07/15/11 07:15AM

Charlie Gilmour, the son of Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour, was sentenced to 16 months in jail today for attacking a royal Jaguar that was part of Prince Charles and Camilla's motorcade during a student riot in London last year. The riot resulted in the best photograph of British royals ever (above). The court watched video from the attack, where Gilmour yelled:

Who Stunk Up the Space Station's Toilet?

Jeff Neumann · 07/15/11 06:37AM

Someone apparently dropped a big deuce in the International Space Station's zero-gravty toilet and didn't light a match, because the stench coming from it is so strong that one poor astronaut, Ron Garan, has been tapped to fix the $90 million plumbing system.

Mexico Finds 'Biggest Marijuana Plantation' Ever

Jeff Neumann · 07/15/11 05:32AM

Mexican soldiers yesterday raided a 300-acre marijuana farm in Baja California — a find that authorities say is the biggest in the country's storied drug-growing history. General Alfonso Duarte told Reuters, "This is the biggest marijuana plantation we have found in the country," and guessed that it was staffed by as many as 60 people.

Woman Nearly Killed For Looking Like Casey Anthony

Seth Abramovitch · 07/15/11 03:17AM

There seems to be a rash of confusion lately over the identity of the one, true Casey Anthony. On Wednesday, some people seemed to think she was a black man living in a Philadelphia suburb. (His name is Casey Anthony, too.) Now we have the unfortunate case of Oklahoma resident Sammay Blackwell (pictured, right), who does look a little like Casey Anthony. (Not the black man, though — the white woman from Orlando acquitted of killing her daughter. You see how confusing this can get?)

Now You Can Buy a Wine Rack for Your Bike

Matt Cherette · 07/15/11 03:04AM

Hipsters love bikes. They also love wine. But because stuffing a bottle of red in your messenger bag before pedaling down to the park for a picnic is totally déclassé, it hasn't been possible to marry the two. Until now, that is. Etsy user oopsmark is now offering a "Bicycle Wine Rack," which is described thusly:
