Rick Santorum: And I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going

Louis Peitzman · 04/01/12 08:56AM

Is Mitt Romney the Republican presidential nominee yet? Well, not quite. Appearing on NBC's Meet the Press, Rick Santorum acknowledged that the Wisconsin primary will send a "strong signal" as to where the campaign is headed. Even so, a Santorum loss will not be enough for him to drop out — not when we're all having so much fun.

Louis Peitzman · 03/31/12 04:45PM

When The New York Times reports on the recent trend of parents self-publishing the books their kids write, they present both sides of the argument. Well, kind of. You've gotta love the way they rain all over the parade of Ben Heckmann, an eighth grader who was profiled by his local news.

Sorry, New York: none of you won the $640 jackpot. However, 10 New York City tickets — and 7 more in the state — are second-place winners. That prize is $250,000, which is still a lot of money, even if it doesn't look very impressive next to the biggest lottery prize in history.

Louis Peitzman · 03/31/12 11:29AM

While George Zimmerman still has not been charged in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, his public defense — as espoused by his lawyer and family members — rests on the fact that Zimmerman was involved in a physical altercation with Martin. New evidence, however, contradicts that version of events. First there was the security camera footage from the night Zimmerman claims Martin beat him senselessly: to most who watched the video, Zimmerman appeared unscathed.

'The Arrest Thing Isn't as Easy as All That:' This Week in Hate-Watching Bill O'Reilly

Matt Toder · 03/31/12 08:55AM

Bill O'Reilly devoted a lot of time to the Trayvon Martin case on the O'Reilly Factor this week, sometimes spending multiple segments on it during a show. O'Reilly spent much of that time advocating for the position that George Zimmerman shoudn't be convicted on television, as he believes other media outlets have done; his preferred tack is to state that there isn't enough evidence for even an arrest, which kind of neuters the idea that Zimmerman would be held accountable at all. It's pretty revolting stuff and I watched it all so you don't have to.
