Paul Ryan Doesn't Have Time to Explain a 20 Percent Tax Cut, But if He Did It Would Take 18 Seconds

Robert Kessler · 10/12/12 11:15AM

At last night's debate, Martha Raddatz asked Paul Ryan to specifically lay out how he and Mitt Romney intend to lower all Americans' tax rates by 20 percent. This tax cut has been a major part of the Romney/Ryan campaign, but both have been incredibly vague about how they can cut the nation's tax revenue without increasing its deficit. Paul Ryan famously told Fox News' Chris Wallace he "[didn't] have the [time]" because it "would take [him] too long to go through all of the math."

These Politician Guys Don't Really Wanna Fight

California Representative Brad Sherman (D-Sherman Oaks) was at this candidate forum at Pierce College last night and he got all up in Rep. Howard L. Berman's (D-Valley Village) grill like Tyson at a pre-fight press conference and put an arm around him in that fake "I'm a bully acting like I'm your friend" move and he was all, "Do you wanna get into this? You wanna get into this?" And Rep. Berman was all, "This guy."

Nothing new there but, in an odd coincidence, the Kellogg Company has issued a voluntary recall of 2.8 million boxes of frosted and unfrosted Mini-Wheats, due to "the possible presence of fragments of flexible metal mesh from a faulty manufacturing plant" in the cereal.

If There's One Thing to Remember About the VP Debate, It's That Joe Biden Laughed His Way Through It

Kate Bennert · 10/12/12 02:50AM

According to Twitter, the vice presidential debate was entirely more lively than the first presidential debate. According to Joe Biden, the vice presidential debate was very funny—nay, hilarious. The current VP chuckled almost every time Paul Ryan opened his mouth. But who can blame him when Ryan changed his mind at least three times over the course of the debate, still could not produce numbers to back up his tax plan, and basically said that his reason for wanting to outlaw abortion is that his daughter once looked like a bean? Seriously.
