Houston News Station: Tony Romo Still "Gayest Player on the Cowgirls"

After news broke that first openly-gay NFLer Michael Sam had signed to the Dallas Cowboys practice squad, Houston's Fox 26 apparently snuck a dumb gay joke about Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo into its news crawl: "Tony Romo, still the gayest player on the Cowgirls."
Wow, good one. Sick burn. Hot zinger.
Busted Coverage points out that the same exact joke appeared on Twitter before the broadcast, so it seems likely it was pulled into the scroll accidentally. Or maybe someone at Fox 26 hates the Cowboys (understandable) and is a homophobic dickhead (not okay).
The station hasn't yet confirmed or apologized for the reported incident.
