In a crushing victory over his remaining rivals, Donald Trump won Indiana’s Republican primary on Tuesday, putting him well on his way to clinching the nomination with over 1,000 of 1,237 needed delegates.

Both Trump and Ted Cruz characterized the Indiana contest as a decisive moment in the race, with Trump saying on Monday, “If we win in Indiana, it’s over with, folks.”

According to CBS News, Trump was aided in the Indiana primary by his solid support among the state’s “ANGRY” and “OUTSIDER” voters.

Earlier today, Cruz warned that America “could well plunge into the abyss” if Indiana “does not act,” but the candidate showed little sign of giving up Tuesday evening: Shortly before the polls closed, the Cruz campaign announced upcoming events in Nebraska and Washington.*

*UPDATE: Ted Cruz has ended his campaign.
