New York is suing Donald Trump for $40 million because SPOILER ALERT: his Trump University is complete and total bullshit.

According to New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, Trump defrauded at least 5,000 Trump devotees, who paid between $1,495 and $35,000 to enroll in Trump's "educational institute." Those students were under the impression that the cost of tuition would include "individual instruction until they made their first deal," because, well, that's what the program promised.

Instead, they were given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have their photograph taken in front of a life-size picture of the blustery Golden Retriever.

And, surprise surprise, according to USA Today, "many of the wannabe moguls were unable to land even one real estate deal and were left far worse off than before the lessons, facing thousands of dollars in debt for the seminar program."

Trump, through his attorneys, has called the lawsuit "politically motivated" and a "waste of taxpayer's money," unlike, say, demanding the President's birth certificate for more than five years. Trump contends that Schneiderman is coming after him because he failed to fundraise enough during Schneiderman's Attorney General race. Election records show that Trump donated $12,500 to Schneiderman during the 2010 race.
