Did This Tweet From 2008 Convince Donald Trump to Run for President?
It spent much of the day watching TV, checking out CNN before flipping to Rachel Maddow, a new favorite. To a Twitter egg like @mariavt, it probably seemed like a normal Wednesday, but on that Wednesday, an egg dreamed the future.

“[T]rump for president,” wrote @mariavt, the first person to do so on Twitter, quickly adding, “hahaah not.”
There’s no way of knowing if Donald Trump saw the tweet and if, having seen it, he was compelled to run for president seven years later. But it’s easy to imagine a man with a temper like Trump’s responding to @mariavt’s mocking challenge with a hearty, “Bring it on!”
Of course, we all know what happened to Trump, but what happened to the egg? After nine short (sometimes prophetic) tweets, @mariavt simply disappeared.
