Carly Fiorina said several things during her speech today accepting Ted Cruz’s offer to be his vice president, but the striking part was what she left unsaid. She sang a song.

Fiorina was discussing her time on the road with the Cruz family and, after waiting for the teleprompter to clear so she could read all their names, she suddenly began to sing.

“I know two girls that I just adore. I’m so happy I can see them more,” sang Fiorina. She continued: “‘Cause we travel on the bus all day, we get to play, we get to play.”

Then she said of the song apparently sung, perhaps even voluntarily, by the Cruz children: “They have four verses, Caroline and Catherine. Love you girls.”

Chilling.
