Are You Feeding Your Kids Enough Cholesterol?
In the fabled "golden age" of America, parents were able to rest easy knowing that their kids would have good schools to attend, safe neighborhoods in which to play, and ample cholesterol-enriched food to consume as they grew. No more. Schools are hell; parks are weed-infested; and children just like yours are eating food severely lacking in precious cholesterol. Is your child's internal reserve of cholesterol at risk?
Another small stumble in the slow-motion collapse of America's Global Superiority. From the WSJ:
The study showed that 8.1% of children and adolescents ages 6 to 19 had elevated total cholesterol levels between 2007 and 2010, a decline from 11.3% who had high cholesterol between 1988 and 1994... The proportion of children and adolescents who had any type of cholesterol problem-involving too little "good" cholesterol or too much of the "bad"-fell to 22% in the 2007-10 period from 27% in the 1988-94 period.
"Good" and "bad" cholesterol?? This is America. We don't distinguish between "good" or "bad" taste, or "good" or "bad" wars, do we? Meanwhile the Chinese are hardening their children's arteries into veritable steel pipes. American parents: I blame you. We all do.
