Man Scales the New York Times Tower for a Newspaper
Evidently unaware that you can get The New York Times on the street, an "emotionally disturbed" man attempted to climb up the side of the New York Times headquarters because he wanted a copy of the paper.
In the past, two climbers have made it to the roof of the building before getting arrested. This man didn't have quite that much stamina.
A police spokesman says the man got as far as the fifth floor, then came back down when officers told him to descend. He was not injured but was taken to Bellevue Hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
Here's hoping they at least gave him a copy of The New York Times to read while he's under observation.
