Lawyer Suing Spa For Substandard Breakfast Buffet Offerings
Sausage-addicted personal injury attorney Richard Katz is suing the Setai Club & Spa Wall Street over a complimentary breakfast that, in his estimation, has been in steady decline.
"It was a full-blown hotel breakfast," said Katz, 53, who lives in the West Village with his wife. "I'd go to the gym in the morning, have a spa and a nice quiet breakfast and do some work - they mucked it all up."
Wait! Katz is not done talking to media outlets about how disappointed he is in Setai breakfasts these days. He told the Post:
"They had a full restaurant menu like you get in a hotel — omelets, pancakes, waffles, yogurts, meats, juice. Whatever you wanted."
Katz agreed to renew his membership if and only if they agreed to return the spread to its former, full-blown glory. But all he got was a "cold buffet on the roof deck." The club offered to allow him to quit and would return any portion of his unused annual fees. He responded by filing a $730,000 lawsuit against them. For what? For mental anguish, pain and suffering over the absence of a chaffing dish full of soggy bacon slices following his daily 6 a.m. shvitz, thereby depriving him of the energy required for his first ambulance-chasing sprint of the day?
