Have you read Misconception, a page-turner of a "reproductive thriller," self-published by fertility specialist Dr. Avner Hershlag? Well, you might want to jump on that baby now, before a major publisher buys it and hikes up the price considerably. That's because Hershlag — who happens to be the dad of Natalie Portman — has been shopping the book around.

Could the publishing industry be so craven and desperate as to market a book purely on the selling factor that its author's daughter is an Oscar-winning movie star? Yes, they definitely could! Especially if there's even a sliver of a chance that Natalie might star as its "First Lady with compromised embryos" in the movie adaptation. Let's hope Dr. Avner puts less pressure on her than Barbara Hershey did in Black Swan. [Observer, photo via Getty]
