Comment of the Day: Gwyneth's Philly Cheesesteak
Today we heard that the world's most perfect human, Gwyneth Paltrow, might be starting a cooking magazine. Calloo, callay, oh happy day! What sorts of down-home recipes will this humble working mother put together for us? One commenter had an early peek.
Gwyneth's Philly Cheesesteak:
Start with 1 pound Matsutake mushroom, finely chopped. Add 1 cup white truffle, shaved. Slice 1 pound Wagyu steak and set aside. lightly brown 2 tablespoons saffron and while still hot, add 1 cup Henri IV Dudognon Heritage cognac and let simmer. Add in the steak and mushroom/truffle mix and cook for 5 minutes. Slice 2 thick pieces of Harrod's Roquefort and Almond sourdough bread and lay thin slices of Pule cheese on the bread. Pour cooked steak mixture on top of bread and cheese. Salt and pepper to taste.
Sounds pretty good actually!
