Bristol Palin's Stale Lesbian Joke Repertoire
Comedian Margaret Cho and teen mother Bristol Palin were on Dancing With the Stars together. Last week, Cho claimed that Sarah Palin forced Bristol to participate. So Bristol hit Facebook (as Palins do) with a rebuttal. And a lesbian joke.
Cho's claim (which she heard from "heard from someone who really should know (really should seriously know the dirt really really)") was essentially that Sarah Palin is still angry with Bristol over the whole "unplanned pregnancy in the middle of a presidential election thing," and that Sarah made Bristol participate so that "America would fall in love with her again." Far-fetched! Sure! But it's the Palins, so.
Anyway: Bristol shot back on Facebook tonight with a post aimed at her "friend," Cho. (Both of them claim to be friends, which is also far-fetched, but it's the Palins, and Margaret Cho, so.) In it, she (or, let's be real, her ghost-writer) attempts to rebut most of Cho's claims. And then finished it all off with this one:
To my friend Margaret Cho, if you ever have a question, call me girlfriend. Don't ever rely on "sources" who claim to know me or my family. You will be taken every time. And we need to talk. You say you "don't agree with the family's politics at all" but I say, if you understood that commonsense conservative values supports the right of individuals like you, like all of us, to live our lives with less government interference and more independence, you would embrace us faster than KD Lang at an Indigo Girls concert.
P.S. If you want to baby-sit Tripp, I could use a night off.
Which is just... well, look, I'm guessing the idea here is that they're "friends," or whatever, and Cho is a comedian, so this is "okay," in Bristol's mind, to make gay jokes on her Facebook page. And, I guess, at this point it's hard to muster up the energy to be offended by the Palin family's whole act. But! K.D. Lang and the Indigo Girls? In 2010? Really? You can't come up with anything better than that? Why not Melissa Etheridge at a softball game, am I right?? Wearing flannel??
