Chris Rock's Top Five doesn't have any real villains, per se, but in it is one truly awful character. The film has been very well reviewed, so perhaps this depiction is hitting me harder than most people. I do think, though, it is worth examining.

LSU's Delta Kappa Epilson chapter is awful sorry about the banner they hung from their frat house this weekend for the game against Sam Houston State, which read "Michael isn't the only Sam getting the D tonight." While "satire" was the goal, DKE brothers say, "crossing the line and causing offense to others [was] never the intent."

James Franco is repeatedly telling the world that he's straight, but that didn't stop the likes of Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, Natasha Leggero, Andy Samberg, and Jeff Ross from running the speculation about his sexuality into the ground during last night's Roast of James Franco on Comedy Central. Comedian Margaret Cho and teen mother Bristol Palin were on Dancing With the Stars together. Last week, Cho claimed that Sarah Palin forced Bristol to participate. So Bristol hit Facebook (as Palins do) with a rebuttal. And a lesbian joke.

An extended gay joke was removed from trailers for Vince Vaughn's new comedy The Dilemma after public outcry. But it's going to stay in the movie. Why? Because, according to director Ron Howard, removing it would "endanger comedy."
