The End of History Ale: The World's Strongest Beer Comes Inside a Dead Squirrel
British brewery BrewDog is producing a $750 beer called "The End of History Ale." At 55 per cent volume, it's stronger than whiskey or vodka. Also, all the bottles are placed inside dead animals.
Have you ever though to yourself, "This Red Stripe sure is good, but what it really needs is a dead rodent wrapped around it? And also, to be so alcoholic it's nearly undrinkable?" Well, do I have a beer for you! The End of History Ale, of which only 12 bottles have been made, is claimed to be the world's strongest beer. It is also the world's grossest beer, due to the animals that function as cozies.
Seven stoats, four squirrels, and one hare—none of which were killed for this purpose—have been stuffed and costumed (in kilts and top hats) and then had bottles of sickeningly strong beer shoved inside of them. The co-founder of the brewery, James Watt, sounds about how you'd expect someone who named their brewery "BrewDog" to sound:
''This is the beer to end all beers. It's an audacious blend of eccentricity, artistry and rebellion; changing the general perception of beer, one stuffed animal at a time.
''The impact of The End Of History is a perfect conceptual marriage between taxidermy, art and craft brewing. The bottles are at once beautiful and disturbing - they disrupt conventions and break taboos, just like the beer they hold within them.''
So, you know, if you are the kind of person who is looking to drop 500 British pounds (about $762 American) on an "audacious blend" of gross beer, dead animal, and hacky marketing speak, get in touch with BrewDog.
