Baghdad, a city of 7 million, is overrun with 1.25 million stray dogs that live in feral packs and terrorize children. Now that Baghdad's feral human problem is (relatively) under control, authorities are going after dogs with shotguns and poison.

The plan is to put down one million strays. Two months into the program they've already killed 42,000. "We could consider this the biggest campaign of dog execution ever," said Baghdad's chief veterinarian. So now we know the chain of order for taming anarchy. First: Bring terrorism down to a dull roar. Second: Reduce multitude of snarling canines. [DailyMail, image via AP]
