Minutemen Founder Accused of Threatening Family With Guns
Chris Simcox, co-founder of the Minutemen border militia and recent primary opponent of John McCain, is getting divorced. According to his wife, it's just small stuff, like how he "twice brandished a gun and threatened to shoot his family."
Simcox, whose work starting an organization for people to point their guns at Mexicans made him a rising star in the Arizona Republican party, is accused of two lovely gun incidents in an order of protection that his wife Alena filed this April. In the first, she claims that she came home to find her husband drunk and pointing guns and threatening the family, a "six-hour ordeal during which she locked herself and her three children in a bedroom until he passed out at 2 a.m." Jesus.
The second incident, in Alena Simcox's telling, begins, "On our wedding anniversary, he was drinking and angry." We've all been there. "Got a revolver gun and loaded with kids present. Then proceeded to ask me to shoot him.' I said no,' so then he said he would shoot the entire family and cops." Okay we all have not been there.
It's probably a good idea for her to divorce him.
Did you know that this guy started a Senate primary bid against John McCain recently? He had a chance! But then another very slightly less-crazy wingnut, ex-Congressman J.D. Hayworth, entered too, so he dropped out and has been working for Hayworth until right about now.
He should've stayed in on his own! Would've been fun to vote for him anyway, just to piss off corrupt old liar John McCain.
