This thoroughly nauseating news — of interest, we're sure, only to a handful of people in the most rarefied Manhattan ZIP codes — was carried in last night's weekly Publishers Lunch deal roundup:

Amy Allen and illustrator Eun-Kyung Kung's THIS LITTLE PIGGY WENT TO PRADA: Nursery Rhymes for the Blahnik Brigade, twenty-two humorous, name-dropping nursery rhymes for Birkin-toting, Blahnik-wearing It moms and mommies-to-be, to Jennifer Pooley for Harper Entertainment, in a pre-empt, by Chris Collier at Spy Publishing (NA).

But there's actually a bit of good news buried here. If the deal's just being announced now, it'll be at least a year till the book is actually published. Which leaves plenty of time for anyone who might even consider buying it for their kids to be sterilized.

UPDATE: It gets worse. The book is already out in Britain, and, according to British Vogue, it contains bits like this:

This little piggy went to Prada,
This little piggy went to Cannes,
This little piggy dined at Nobu,
And this little piggy, Hakkasan.
And this little piggy went 'Wee wee wee wee!'
All the way home because she had a fat bottom!"

Which presents a ethical question: Do we think book burnings are ever morally acceptable?
