Zookeeper: Justin Bieber Left His Illegal Monkey Frightened and Alone
The German government has been taking good care of musical skid mark Justin Bieber's former pet Capuchin monkey, Mally, since the Biebs abandoned him last year.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Mally's new mom, zookeeper Jenny Niawoehner, took Bieber to task for mistreating and abandoning his pet, and suggested he bought the monkey on the black market.
Mally was confiscated at customs in Munich when Bieber's tour stopped there last year, because the singer couldn't produce vaccination records or proof that the animal was purchased legally. He promised to return for Mally with the proper documentation, but never did.
"'We can only assume the monkey was not acquired legally. We have never heard from, or seen, Justin Bieber ever since and we do not expect to," a spokesperson for the Hodenhagen Serengeti Wildlife Park told the Daily Mail.
Last summer, the German government billed Bieber $8,000 for the monkey's vaccinations and continuing care, but according to zoo officials, he never paid up. If that's accurate, he could be denied entry to Germany until he settles the debt.
"Mally was frightened, he was alone, he was disoriented and we did not know how things would work out for him. He needed to be cared for constantly," said Niawoehner, who added that it's fortunate the little Capuchin was accepted by a family of other monkeys at his new home.
Questions about Mally are coming up again now because of reports that Bieber abandoned his latest pet, Karma the American bulldog. Bieber bought the puppy in Canada last Christmas, but he and his dad allegedly left the dog with a trainer and never came back for him.
Dad Jeremy Bieber threw Karma off a second-floor balcony after the dog bit Justin's younger brother, Jaxon, trainer Trevor Dvernichuk claimed to TMZ. The dog landed in a snow bank and survived, but the Biebers told the trainer to take him away until he was "socialized."
Nearly a year after the Biebers first got Karma, they want him back, and Jeremy is threatening to get the police involved. Dvernichuk still has concerns about the dog's welfare.
"Karma will bit you in your ass, Biebers," Dvernichuk wrote on Facebook.
