Black Friday, the appropriately named day of mourning for the last vestiges of America's soul, grows ever larger. We shuddered when we heard one mall was starting at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving day. Naturally, Wal-Mart's plans are worse.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Wal-Mart plans to launch sales events starting at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, two hours earlier than last year's event. The retailer said it will hold Black Friday events at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving, with sales lasting throughout the weekend.

Last year, Wal-Mart's Black Friday only caused a moderate amount of death and rioting. Opening up even earlier should help them beat that record this year.
