There is simply no other word to describe the sentence Donald Trump tweeted out Sunday morning addressing Bernie Sanders.
It’s no secret that the Republican presidential frontrunner encourages violence at his own campaign events, even offering to support his fans who use it. But Trump reached a new level on Sunday, using a phrase straight out of a mobster movie: “Be careful.” This is, undoubtedly and irrevocably, a threat—a threat that Trump will mobilize his thousands of devoted supporters to violently harass or even attack supporters of a rival candidate. Hmmm, where I have I heard that story before?
