Torontonians worried that their ballot choices in the next mayoral election would be limited only to "squares" who have never smoked crack cocaine were reassured today when Mayor Rob Ford, who was filmed smoking crack cocaine, told reporters "I'm not stepping aside, I'm running in the next election."

In a brief press conference, ostensibly about the string of departures in the mayor's office, Ford claimed that "things are doing great and we're doing fine," and told the assembled journalists that he had saved the taxpayers a billion dollars, an assertion for which no proof has been provided. His repeated response to all questions about the crack that he smoked, and the video in which the act was documented, was "anything else?" (Grandiose claims and repetitive behavior are common side effects of cocaine use.)
