This Thanksgiving, let’s all be thankful for—and not trample on—birds.

Taylor Swift, a woman who has already been accused of destroying the local coastline around her Rhode Island beachside mansion, is now allegedly threatening living things, too. According to the BBC, New Zealand residents and conservationists alleged this week that Swift’s crew violated rules meant to protect the critically endangered New Zealand dottorel, also called the New Zealand plover, by driving vehicles (including vans) on important habitat for the species.

The crew was given permission by the Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development to drive two vehicles on the beach, according to Yahoo News, but observers saw many more on the site—some estimate as many as a dozen.

There are an estimated 1,700 dotterels left in New Zealand, and they commonly use the beach for nesting. See how innocent they are, Taylor?

Local film company Cherokee Films said in a statement that Swift wasn’t at fault, but that she will also donate money to the birds’ breeding program — not out of guilt or anything, of course.

“At all times the film crew adhered to the Dotterel protocol in guidelines provided about the dotterel nesting sites, and at no time were the film crew close to that habitat. No Dotterel were harmed...In acknowledgement of the concern this has added to those in charge of protecting local Dotterel population Cherokee Films will make a donation to the breeding program as we support your concerns.”
